Face

We all have our bad habits. Cracking knuckles, biting nails; I have experienced it all. But when it comes to my face, bad habits can reek havoc on my skin. If you are subject to poking, popping, pinching, touching, irritating, or picking at your face, you may find these tips very helpful. And do not worry, I am also trying to break a couple of these.

1. DON’T POP THAT PIMPLE

Everyone has popped a pimple intheir life. You think it immediately disappears, but in reality, you are only creating a bigger infection. Forcing the puss out of that red bump only pushes more back in, causing a bigger lump on your chin. And when it does heal, a dark red scar can appear from multiple irritations. PLUS popping a pimple doesn’t usually feel good. It hurts! Now doesn’t that make you think twice about picking at your skin?

2. Hands Off

I am guilty of unconsciously touching my face. You may have an itch, or have to wipe a hair out of your face; whatever it is, you are harboring all the oils and bacteria from your fingers to your face. And this can cause major breakouts for acne prone skin.

3. Eat Your Fruits and Veggies!

I cannot stress this tip enough. Fruits and vegetables are wonderful, natural sources of antioxidants, that help your face look fresh and healthy.

4. Change those Sheets

Changing your sheets, especially your pillowcase is crucial to keeping your face free of oil build up. After having the same pillow case for more than a month, it becomes a cozy spot for bacteria to settle.

5. Wash after Workouts

Sweat is great for flushing out the toxins and impurities in your skin. But if you keep it there for too long, you are prone to creating an oily, bacteria-filled film on your body; acne likes to show up in these conditions.

These only a couple of my many “skin rules” but I believe that they are the most important on my list. If you would like to see more posts like these, comment!
